Comprehensive Invisalign

Happy Valley Orthodontics is an Invisalign Preferred Provider.

Invisalign is an orthodontic technique patented by Align Technology in which maligned teeth are moved through a series of removable, clear plastic trays that gradually move teeth in incremental stages.  The trays are fabricated through a series of steps.

Step 1

A set of detailed impressions are taken of your teeth along with a set of digital photos and xrays. Our doctor will review these records and submits a detailed prescription of the pathway to move your teeth into appropriate positions.

Step 2

The records and prescription are submitted to the Invisalign laboratory where they are scanned into a computer system. Following scanning, the doctor is notified to review the scan and recommended movements necessary to move your teeth using a program called ClinCheck. ClinCheck shows a customized animation of your orthodontic correction from start to finish before your trays are made.

Step 3

Once approved by your orthodontist, this animation is then divided into "frames" or "slices" of movement, and each frame of movements corresponds to a sequential tray. Invisalign then fabricates the trays and ships all of the trays to your orthodontist. The number of trays depends on the complexity of your treatment and usually varies from 10-25 trays.

Step 4

At your next visit, your first tray is inserted and you will likely receive some additional trays to change on your own. You will be asked to wear your trays 20-22 hours/day and change to your next tray within 2-3 weeks. Our doctors prefer to see patients every 3-7 weeks for evaluations to make sure your teeth are moving as prescribed.
